Advent Pancake Breakfast15th Annual Advent Pancake Breakfast: The tradition continues with a few surprises! Please join us for a wonderful morning of fun and fellowship as we gather to celebrate the feast of St. Nicholas. Young Adults Community Small Group: In a time of transition? Looking for new connections?Our group of young adult parishioners (20’s and 30’s)  meets Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm in Anthony Hall Room 403. We are going to read each week’s scripture readings for Mass and talk about what they mean to us, our lives, and how we live out our faith. Join us. Visit our webpage.


Mental Illness: A series of 12 sessions structured to help families understand and support individuals with serious mental illness while maintaining their own well-being. The course is taught by a team of trained NAMI. (National Alliance on Mental Illness)Family member volunteers who know what it is like to have a loved one struggling with major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and other brain disorders. AA Meeting: Alcoholic Anonymous meetings are held daily at 7:15 am in Laverna (log cabin).  Enter through the garage.  Anyone interested in the program and recovery is welcome to attend.


Al-Anon meetings: Sundays at 7:00 pm in Anthony Hall Room 403. Al-Anon is an anonymous fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope.

Brown Bag Ministry:  Pack and deliver brown bag lunches to a low-income senior community in Durham. All ages welcome. 2 hours, Saturday morning.

Community Garden:  Saturday mornings, 8:30to 10:30 a.m. Help us harvest, weed and water organic vegetables for donation to hungry families. Meet other gardeners or enjoy a hands-on learning experience with your children. Garden is located in front of La Verna House, 11501 Leesville Rd, across from St. Mary of the Angels Chapel.
Time Commitment: 1 – 2 hours.

Third Option:   Many of us manage marriage as a series of choices between his desires and her desires, between “peace at any price” and “letting it all hang out.”  Because they move us to extremes, these options don’t bring us together.  With The Third Option, you can learn how to break through the clutter of past baggage and misunderstandings and build an effective, loving relationship.
